Ogata Haruna will not be in this stage play. It looks like Maa-chan is wearing the outfit Ogata wore from the first Pharaoh no Haka stage play.

She has really grown into her member color. Soft, soothing lavender? Yup.

Thanks for sharing, don't think anyone else covered it before Oda here.
Suppose it's a good thing that she challenges herself, but damn. This sounded not good at all - it's probably making her sound worse than she is capable of. Sure it's all right on some patches, especially verses, but overall it's riddled with pitch issues, vocal breaking, volume issues, you name it.
She has the same problem with all these ex and current H!P girls covering Matsuura songs. The keys in most of her songs are higher than what these girls can sing by themselves solo and they really struggle/have nowhere to hide but be exposed. It just makes her sound like a bad, amateur singer and she is not skilled enough to cover her shortcoming on stage, which some experienced professional singers can do.

:fear: Having written that on her defense, a) this is not her song and that means no matter how much time she prepared leading up to this event, it probably wasn't enough - considering her other (ahem, main) job. :)
B) Again a good professional singer would still be able to cover other singers' songs with limited practice but she is an idol singer in a group and still what 19? (Still) gotta give her slacks. C) Suppose she would sound much better on songs that are lower in key. Even in this same event. It's not that she can't hit some random high notes, she probably can - it's the key issue here and it's evidently too high for her to sing without struggling.

Edit: fixed one word typo there -> nowhere to "hide" :)

Professional singers aren't really to cover EVERYTHING with limited practice, they're limited to their range. The difference is they would change the key and Sakura doesn't have that option because H!P covers are just glorified Karaoke. I know people in Musical Theatre, trust me when I say there are songs they cannot sing.

Sakura has a very standard middle range, her low and high notes always sound a bit shaky, but I didn't notice anything too terrible? I thought the beginning of the Kikka song she did was worse than this (Though she found a groove toward the second verse)

Umm, in case it wasn't clear, it's called a generalization. Nowhere did I imply that good professional singers can cover "everything". You can't be serious with this stuff. Do I really need to always narrow it down every time or can you (or anyone) just get the gist of what I was trying to convey without injecting random nonsense into it - it's not super hard. :) Either you got confused or you are just nick-picking aimlessly and hmm good luck with that.

It goes without saying, I evidently have a higher standard when judging singing. Probably too high in this context because I don't consider idol aspect at all in most cases- except for some footnote at the end. Oda has always been hyped, so it's not unreasonable for me to take it a bit more seriously than with most other H!P girls. I may notice/pick up more details but now it shouldn't stop you or anyone else from enjoying a performance - no matter how terrible/great one thinks of it. I am not writing here to just trash her - simply posting what I think of it and you can agree or disagree, my friend.

And nope, they can change keys if they choose to. There has been a few, however rare, girls who did when covering songs. Girls like Takahashi and Sugaya. I'd say Takahashi's Dearest cover (not the recorded one, but a live one) wasn't bad after lowering a whole step. It's not that hard to change keys if it is just a karaoke playback - or even a live band backing. They just don't in most cases 'cos they are idol events and it's not a priority, one would assume.

Juice=Juice Kanazawa Tomoko was not feeling well yesterday. She was diagnosed with "viral gastroenteritis" (stomach flu). She will miss all of the Satoyama & Satoumi 2018 event and both days of the Hina Fest 2018 concerts.

She will also miss the Juice=Juice handshake events at Satoyama & Satoumi 2018. She may have to miss more Juice=Juice events.

Tomoko was scheduled to perform in the Hina Fest 5 member shuffle group on 4/1 (recording day).
