So I just got done watching the H!P Countdown Party concert. Watched part 1 yesterday and part 2 today. About 5-6 hours in total (I skipped most of the MCs, so I'm not sure how many hours I actually watched).
It was
awesome. A great mix of old and new H!P.
OG ramblings:
-T&C are still amazing. Kinda weird without Ruru, but it doesn't matter. Super impressed that Shinoda still managed to do her cartwheels in Uchuu de La Ta Ta. Also, Miwa's voice is perfect.
-Melon are sooooooo good. They really got the crowd going and seemed to be super into their performances. Boss is still gorgeous.
-Ayappe looked beautiful. So glad she performed! That Tanpopo performance was great.
-I'm not sure how I lived through Morning Coffee. All I'm sure about is that I'm glad I live in a world where this performance exists.
-Yuuko most definitely my kamioshi. That Kuyashi Namida Porori...

-GAM were better than I expected. Ayaya looked so happy to be on stage again -- she completely won me over. Miki also looked happy, which is good.
-v-u-den was super weird with only two members...
-I have decided that I definitely do not miss Platinum Era MM。. They weren't bad by any means, but I just enjoy post-Platinum a lot more. I guess their performances are more interesting to watch? OOLG and Mikan are both awesome songs though.
-Yukidon's voice is really amazing and I'm kinda sad she only sang one song. But it was still great, so I'm not complaining.
-Heike is perfect.
-THE Possible are good idol performers, if that makes sense.
-I really cannot get into LoVendoЯ's music... Same with UUG.
-Mano looked great. She probably had one of the best outfits of the night.
Current member/group ramblings:
-℃-ute + Tomoko was... odd. I'm not sure if I like it.
-Berryz's outfits were baaaad.
-As much as I love J=J, Ijiwaru is still my least favourite song of theirs. It's shit. The outfits also suck, but that's another problem.
-The KSS are amazing and I really hope we get a new group sometime soon. Kaede

-Momoko was good in Dekoboko Seventeen. Say what you want about Momochi, Momoko herself is still a good singer.
-Masaki is damn good at performing.
-S/mileage should stick to funky songs like Ee ka!? and Yattaruchan. Also, they need to perform Yattaruchan all the time because Kana always look so happy.
-Bitter & Sweet have potential. I like them a lot.
Overall, a really good concert. If you have time, I recommend watching it. Also, if you're somewhat new to the H!P fandom, it's a good chance to get a feeling for the older acts. Sure, only a select few are in it given H!P's long history, but the ones that do perform some of their better known songs. If you never know where to start with older groups, this would be a good place.
Of course, for fans who've been around for ages, it's a good source of nostalgia and other such things.
One of the things I noticed the most was that lots of the OGs seemed really happy to be performing on stage again. I saw so many genuine smiles. Seeing idols (and, well, artists in general) smile and be happy on stage is one of my favourite things and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Most definitely worth checking out. I'm super glad I watched it.
