I can't say I'm happy about the results, but I'm happy Juice=Juice were nominated at least. They deserved it. That Romance no Tochuu performance was truly the best; you can tell they put their heart and soul to grasp the opportunity.

Now I can focus my mind on the Morning Musume dokkiri special.

His song had more important/relevance in Japan's society this year than Juice=Juice's did whether you want it to or not.

I don't think that has very much to do with it. Didn't S/mileage win that award? Nobody cared but us and them.

S/mileage were much more promoted than Juice=Juice were. But also they were up against a Kpop group which the old men didn't want for to win so they got lucky. This year it was all Japanese artists so they could be less biased? I don't know about the two enka singers how relevant they've been in the enka world, but Shinzato definitely became a huge hit.

Of course they just might be bought too, or it's a combination of everything. :b

I can't judge the guy who won since I've never heard his music but I've been listening to Jpop for around 15 years. I haven't heard every artist, group, or band but I'd like to think that I've heard my fair share. And I can honestly say I'd put Juice=Juice first two major singles up against anyone I've heard. They're the first H!P group where I actually like the voices of the girls who sing, instead of just tolerating, or being impartial to. They're green as all hell and have a ways to go but the potential is all obviously there. As long as Tsunku caters to what these girls do best sky's the limit. And notice how I've showered this group with praise and haven't said jack squat about any of them being hot? My like for them is purely performance, singing ability, and music. And I don't know, I think that speaks volumes.

It's too bad they didn't win this award, especially since others in H!P have. But somewhere down the line they'll get the credit they deserve. They're just too good not to.
