Western side of the fandom, maybe (she was still somewhat popular all things considered). I doubt Junjun and Linlin would've ever been that popular amongst Japanese fans, however.

Maybe so, but a lot of years have passed. She could very well have just slimmed down naturally due to a change in her diet, stress levels, and so on. She looked awesome before and she looks awesome now. And she's still so charming and adorable. I miss her!

Nah, from what translations of her weibo/blog/etc.. we've had access to ever since she resurfaced after graduation (admittedly not that many), it's been a concerted effort on her part.
A pity (at least to me).

Society makes people conscious of their looks. If she's happy with how she looks now then that's good, and hopefully she doesn't feel the need to keep losing weight. She seems more confident now than when she was in MM, although I'm sure she'd be more confident speaking Chinese vs. Japanese so it's difficult to compare.
