In a nutshell Maki is returning to the entertainment industry to be Chief Curator for a magazine (their words, I'm assuming they mean something like Creative Director/Editor in Chief) of a lifestyle magazine. Maki said that during her time off she was finally able to dedicate herself to the things that interested her (hair, health, nails, etc.) but that she never had time to do while she was working.

On some TV shows, when they introduce the members, they usually put what group they're from next to their name, or just mention the group. Like, 'Talk about your newest song' or 'What is it like in the group?' or 'How are your kouhai?'. I haven't watched this particular video though, so I wouldn't know.
