As a fellow 30 year old I can attest that Sayaka is regretting her past life choices and trying to find an outlet to relive her glory days and make something of herself. Or something like that. It's not a mid life crisis it's more of a, what have I been doing with my life crisis. 30s is a weird age where you realize your no longer a young adult but a full fledged you gotta do things on your own adult. And considering she just got a divorce I'd say she's trying to go back in time and fix something that can't be fixed. You know this all sounded better in my head but I'll post it anyway.

Believe me, the age-30 crisis is just the first (or an early instance, at least) in a series of crises, which I think just keeps on indefinitely. XD
And they can take some very strange forms, too -- I know that some of the things that I've done during the past ten years even strike me as being a little strange, and at 30, I was definitely in an unstable state. :fear:

I haven't paid much attention to them recently so can someone please remind me again why the sudden uptick in interest on Aichan after she's married to Abe or vice versa? From Japanese mass media I mean.

Is it because the guy? But I thought he's not exactly a very famous comedian? Is it because Aichan was a former Idol?
Did they do or say something interesting when they revealed their relationships/get married? Or is this just the regular interest in celebrity couples?

Again... I don't begrudge them their success, I'm just curious on what changed? What makes them interesting in the public eye now?
Because they've certainly been making the news noticeably more often now than before...

Sayaka Iichi is not only trying to get too much attention for herself by mention MM's name, but she's constantly going against it (like saying she likes AKB, that her daughter does, complaining about DMM).

The way she's handling this situation is annoying and disrespectful. After all, she made a name thanks to MM, and now she's using it as a "stepping stone", while mentioning them negatively. I hate this kind of behavior.

Not really. Sayaka left on her own accord, was MIA for years and only comes back because MM。are relevant again. Every time she appears on or in something she seems to have something negative to say, even though people only give a shit about her because she was once in MM。.

Koharu, on the other hand, was (from memory) basically told to leave in so many words, then went on whatever radio show and said things like "Yeah they kicked me out I didn't really have any friends and I didn't really enjoy being an idol". That's totally different than not having anything to do with H!P/UF then acting all pissed because you weren't contacted for a group full of graduated members who were still signed to the company.

Honestly, I've forgotten most of what Koharu said, but IIRC she only brought it up once or twice and didn't keep going on about it and stuff.

Totally. Ichii's tactics here are deplorable... though I'm honestly not sure how much "planning" or thought has gone behind them. Is she going for the sympathy card? "MM didn't invite me for DMM, AKB48 didn't pick me for their group, either" ... from an outside perspective (that doesn't understand what DMM was a UF*-only thing), these two statements read to me more like maybe she shouldn't be part of the idol game, if those two big hitters don't want her?
Or at least at that point, start your own idol group like Kago's doing? But don't make a huge deal out of it and then join an indies bathhouse idol group.

Ah, but just an aside to set something straight...

?
Koharu's account of her tenure in MM and graduation is almost entirely based around her loving doing Kirari, being lonely, and her physical constitution being poor due to her diet, massive over-work, and abuse of medications/supplements. She says that she graduated at her own request, wanting to become a model.

Obviously her book is relatively narcissistic and one-sided, but it's definitely her account of what happened, which is NOT that she was kicked out. :thumbs-up:

After Yaguchi, Kago, and even Winona Ryder, I've just gotten used to the fact that my favorite idols will have feet of clay and do stupid and deplorable things.

I sure know how to pick 'em!
