I quit
one of the pioneering video game companies just before they started in on what turned out to be a
groundbreaking project. A
friend who I had recruited for the job stayed on, and later became a game producer for Disney.
Do I regret quitting? A bit, but not a whole lot. Life is life, and there's always more to the story than the bare bones of what happened. Comparing the paths that my friend and I followed in each of our lives since then, I can see that they have overall been determined much more by the qualities and experiences that we carried in ourselves than by my choice to quit, and her choice to stay on.
I would guess that with Megumi, the story is equally complicated -- and needless to say, at 26, she's hardly a has-been.

If madness made us strong, we would all be invincible.
