Very true, so visitors to Japan shouldn't be surprised if they end up in one of the many, many places that
don't accept them. When I was in Japan, the plastic that got the most use was the debit card I used to get cash from Citibank and 7-Eleven ATMs. On my last trip over there, 2½ weeks in 2015, I used a credit card only four times, and all of those were at physical media stores (CDs, DVDs, records, books). Having $100 in cash in my wallet at home is a rarity; in Japan it was standard operating procedure for me to carry that much or more.

^^^Just on the subject of cash/cards in Japan. Things have changed vastly in those regards over the last 5 years or so. Compared to western societies, it's still most certainly a cash based society. I carry much more cash on me than I ever would have dreamed of carrying in the States. But credit/debit cards are accepted in most places now, and I know several Japanese people that use cards often. What's really taken off though are apps that are used to pay. Even the school I work at accepts payments by a certain phone app for supplies and tuition payments.

^ I imagine COVID has had a big impact on the use of paying with mobile apps, given how physical money can get pretty gross germ-wise. Still, I hope for Sayuki's sake that the $15k isn't all she has - and if it is, that her venture works out. Yeah, not many 24 year olds can boast about that big of a bank account, but how many 24 year olds have worked that intense of a job since their early teens? I'm just saying, I've been at my post-uni job about the same amount of time she was with J=J, making a low-middle-class wage, and I have way more than that saved up with living on my own and paying all my own bills.

That does not surprise me in the least. If and when I finally get to return to Japan, I will undoubtedly be hit by massive culture shock. Several things that I took for granted as part of my "Japan Experience" have already changed in the seven years since I was there.

Having so many OG together like this, plus current members who are over 20 and likely to graduate soon, is essentially the rebirth of the Elder Club.

On Instagram, Fukuda Asuka posted a statement saying that she had a divorce with her husband, whom she married in November last year.
Last year I married a man who supported me through my life of being sick and in the hospital, in an effort to cooperate and live together, but
I am pleased to report that we have now reached an amicable divorce.
I have a personality that worries about trivial things, and he has a personality that worries about trivial things.
I, who is a person who worries about trivial matters, and my partner, who is busy with work and overseas exchanges, were unable to keep pace with each other.
In the midst of our busy lives
We had a lot of miscommunication.
We were not able to establish the foundation of a family.
After much discussion, we came to the conclusion that it would be better for both of us and our children if we went our separate ways.
We sincerely apologize to our fans and anyone else who may have been concerned.
Unfortunately, we have failed to live together.
I respect the way of life of my partner and
I still owe him a debt of gratitude for helping me in a pinch, and I cannot thank him enough.
Once again, I will endeavor to build up my children and their precious and irreplaceable days with great care.https://www.instagram.com/p/CcopgTavTW5/https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/dcedb ... 3432037e3b
