It's finally happening

Tsubaki Factory Fukuda Marine will release her 1st photobook "MARINE" on her 21st Birthday, October 18th. Published by Odyssey Books, Distributed by Wani Books

Set primarily in her hometown of Hasami Town, where she serves as a 'hometown ambassador', and throughout Nagasaki Prefecture where she was born, the book captures Fukuda Marine's absolute transparency, pure gaze, and dignified presence head-on. The cinematic worldview reflected through the lens is like art itself. It also includes a monologue weaving together her feelings for her hometown. Kikuchi Akiko served as editor-in-chief, with photography by Kenshu Shintsubo, styling by Daisuke Iga, hair and makeup by Chinone Hiromi, and art direction by Hideyuki Saito. This special volume brings together creators active in various fields. (A4 Variant Size · Hardcover · 128 Pages)

<Comment by Fukuda Marine>
Thank you for your continued support. I'm thrilled to announce my first-ever photobook.
When I first received the offer, I wondered if I was the right person for it. But knowing it was with Kikuchi Akiko and her deeply connected staff, I felt ready to take on the challenge and eagerly replied, "I want to do it!"
Surrounded by the nostalgic scenery of my hometown, Nagasaki, and enveloped in the kindness of the staff, I was able to relax completely and truly enjoy the shoot. Visiting Hasami Town, Nagasaki City, and churches during the shoot brought back cherished memories from my childhood and student days, making it a deeply memorable experience.
Here lies the original me, who knew nothing about makeup or nails.
It's a bit embarrassing, but I'd be truly happy if you would pick it up.

<Comment by Kikuchi Akiko>
From the very first moment I saw her, I was captivated by her rare presence—a coexistence of utterly transparent purity and an unyielding strength that remains untainted by anything.
Fukuda-san possesses tremendous power as a "raw material"; she has a mysterious charm that moves people's hearts simply by being there. Whether she's moving, still, smiling, or lost in thought, stories flow around her. You can't look away, wondering what emotions lie behind that gaze.
Together with the talented creators who were drawn into her charm, we quietly followed her as she truly is and recorded it in this book. If, upon closing the book, you feel the lingering resonance of having watched a film, that would be our greatest wish.
What stories she will weave from here on out? I truly look forward to it.

Kikuchi Akiko and Chinone Hiromi both worked on Kasahara Momona's last photo "Dear Sister"

Inaba Manaka (27), who graduated from Juice=Juice in May 2022 and began her solo music career last year in 2024, presents her fifth photobook—her first in about two years. This book features photos shot in Taiwan with the theme of “fragrance.” Inaba's beloved scents—jasmine, ylang-ylang, rosemary, neroli, lavender—are expressed through various situations and outfits, capturing her current softness and strength, along with her mature allure. Furthermore, this book marks Inaba's first time revealing herself in lingerie.

Inaba Manaka Comment
My first photobook in two years. Since I've matured quite a bit age-wise, I challenged myself to express both sides of me—the one I can show now, and the one I can still show even now! Plus, it was my long-awaited overseas shoot. I wasn't super familiar with Taiwan beforehand, but once I got there, I found so many beautiful sights. I even got to shoot in places I'd always wanted to visit, like Jiufen—said to be the inspiration for the beloved Ghibli film Spirited Away. This time, I made a conscious effort to interact with locals and actively learn about the culture, which gave me so much inspiration. I hope my growth comes through in these photos. And the hidden theme? We joked with the staff that it was “Backs! Backs! Backs! Backs! So please pay special attention to the outfits and poses where I boldly show my back! (My dance-trained back muscles really came in handy lol)"
Of course, I hope you can feel the theme of “fragrance” through the photos in each scene.
To all my NakaManakan fans! Thank you so much for your constant support. It's because of you all that I can release this fifth photobook.
I've also received so many requests saying, “We want another photobook!!” I truly hope this work lives up to those expectations. In your busy days, when you feel a little tired or need some healing, I'd be thrilled if you'd look through it again and again, and think, “Let's keep pushing forward tomorrow too!” ♡

I wonder what else is associated with "backs"
